MaxFac Prepping Shana and Tora Dora! Tenori Taigaa Figures
by Randall Fitzgerald on Apr.20, 2007, under figures, japan
Fellow Max Factory fanfags, I am happy to bring to you a MaxFactory blog update that chronicles some lovely upcoming figures. First up is the instantly known Shana from Shakugan no Shana. Max has actually done a good job making the translucent hair work. She looks good, I must say. For a little bit more of a roundabout view, be sure to check GSC’s Wonhobby Life News Watch for today. Second on their site is Ousaka (Osaka) Taiga from Tora Dora! Tenori Taigaa (Palm sized Tiger). She looks good, and HEY! She’s palm sized! WHAT ABOUT THAT! The pose is taken from the cover of volume one of the light novels. Anyway, any inaccuracies can go to hell. I do my best, damnit. Oh, and I didn’t see an release dates.
I will hit the other three figures on Monday since they are sort of ugly. Except this one with noody boobies. It’s has boobies. Therefore, it must be good. Also, I’d like to stop before I make any more embarrassing gender-based mistakes. I’m just saying. If I’d seen more than a face shot of the ambiguously named Mello, I wouldn’t have made that mistake. God damn drawings. Always so tricky.

It’s about time somebody released a good Shana.

Seriously. Has there been a good one other than this one? I can only think of poorly carved crap. CRAP! Max Factory always saves the day.

I’m not a big fan of transparent hair, but it seems like Max Factory may be able to pull it off if they can vary the shades and actually make it look fire-like, rather than a Jolly Rancher. Good work on the eyes as well.
Max Factory has been doing so many good things near-simultaneously as of late…My wallet…

Kotobukiya made a pretty decent one of her sitting, and Beat did a pretty good ceremonial pair (LOL Color Swap). Problem is that for a series that has been out for so long and that is fairly popular, the stuff we’ve been getting is only decent.

Shana figure looks great although I’m just not so sure on the hair. It might look better to me if I saw it in real life or something hopefully…

I didn’t really like Koto’s offerings. I think, was it Orchid Seed that did the bandaged one? I had high hopes for that one, but they didn’t pan out.
Deranged:
A fair point. All the light novels, plus two anime and a movie. Certainly someone formidable should have been on top of this sooner. SURELY!

FINALLY more info from Max Factory on that Shana figure. I’ve been wanting to preorder that sucker for some time now. :D

there are some good shana made by Beat, Ceremony and Guren
This one is better though :)

If Orchid Seed did a bandaged one, I never saw it. HLJ lists the two color swapped Ceremony ones as being from Beat, but they’ve been wrong before. Other places say Solid Works, but I’m not sure if that’s a line or a company.
There is another from Jun Planning, but it isn’t very good. She inexplicably has underwear over her bandages, and her melon bread seems a little…furry.

max factory shana really looks good, definitely gonna get her. the ceremony one is from toys works’ solid works line, they have another shana release in july, where she’s wearing torn up uniform. the bandage version is from Moeart Collection. if i had known sooner that max factory will be releasing a shana pvc i probably wouldn’t have ordered the shana ceremony version
