Huge fucking snow storm coming to town! YAY! Not the million inches like near those lakes. Anyway, I’m still super busy at work. It’s pretty stressful. Man. It’s also keeping me from taking some time to work on new features for ikimashou and I am behind on anime and on gaming. I am sort of working through the main Oblivion arc. I’ve been messing with the Thieves’ Guild lately. Awww yeah. Ok, well enough about me, let’s move it along. Got some good updates. Oh, and I will be rolling the Alter updates out into its own post.
Anime/Manga/Games
- BEST NEWS: Kodomo no Jikan is getting a TV series. Hurrah hurrah! The manga is due out in America in April from Seven Seas (despite their poopy OEL drivel.) Via the sexy, schmexy Shingo over at Heisei Democracy. KISS SHINGO-TAN! Nice to see you posting. (Really, I saw it on moetron first, but Shingo’s blog has been so lonely lately. SO VERY LONELYQ!!!!)
- HEY! Also Shining Tears is getting an animus. It’ll be announced on Gan Gan Powered Magazine (god love the name of Square’s mags.) in the issue due out February 22nd.
- In addition to the second anime series (OVA, maybe) Kiddy Grade is getting a series one re-chop in the form of three movies. Dates are: Ignition for April 7-20, Maelstrom from June 23 – July 6, and Truth Dawn from September 1-14.
- The third-rate asshats in the American dub scene who will be ruining Haruhi have been announced. I won’t be listing them. Needless to say, the biggest dipshit of them all, Crispin Freeman will be the leading man. Wonderful. Bunch of hacks.
- Trailer: Wants some fantasy action anime trailer action? Sisters of Wellber now has a streaming trailer on the site. Series is out in April.
- Trailer: Skull Man also has a trailer on. YEAH YEAH!
- Trailer: @nifty is hosting a 15 second trailer for the upcoming Bones’ TV anime, out in April, called Darker than Black -Kuro no Keiyakusha-.
- Xebec is making Heroic Age. It’s out in April.
- An anime called Sola, which I know nothing about, is due out this April too.
- Yoshi Rin’s anime Switch has been accused, and confirmed of plagarizing Gravure. UH OHHHH! Trouble. He’s apparently ripped off a bunch of other shit. Lul.
- Sunadokei is getting a TV drama too.
- That is all for anime.
Figures
- Yamato has announced a sexy whipXnonoko figure. Nice curves, nice visions of softness. I likes it. Rawr. MEGANEKKO PAWAAAA~! 7,140 yen this June.
- More sexy? YES! From Oneechanbara (Kotaku, the self righteous idiots, insist that it’s Onechan… what the fuck ever man.) by way of Yamato. Bikinis, swords. Yes. I like. Not bad looking for the price. She’s 1/6 scale, and costs 7,140 yen this June.
- Lastly, it’s Hazumu from Girl Meets Girl. YAY KASHIMASHI! Were Hazumu’s boobs always that big? WERE THEY?! I like them that way.1/8 scale, 5,040 yen and out his May.
There are two from Alter. I will be putting them up shortly. YOU BETTER TELL ME YOU LOVE ME! LOVE ME DAMNIT!!!
Good news on Kiddy Grade, though I hope the movies won’t be shitty job just to rake more cash their way. Like just pasting screens/parts together. And it will be interesting to see sum Shining Tears anime. I’ll be hopeful for this one. Still haven’t recovered from some other game-turned-anime piece. My eyes, or should I say, my ass.
And Haruhi dubs, I couldn’t care for them, even less when it’s Crispin Freeman. I’ll just watch my a.f.k versions from dvd-r & continue importing the novels… YARR!
Oh yeah, totally. I just know the utter crappiness of the dub that was most likely recorded in some back alley in one hour will somehow leak over to the absolutely GODLY japanese vocals and completely corrupt it. You’re so right, it’s going to be totally ruined. I bet they won’t even bother putting on the original japanese version! Damn bastards. Americans shouldn’t be allowed to sully such masterpieces. They shouldn’t even be allowed to breath near them. They’re all hacks that are deliberately going out of their way to ruin all our favorite animes! They probably have daily meetings on Wednesdays discussing how to do it! THEY SHOULD ALL BURN IN HELL!

I really hope my sarcasm was evident in the last post. I mean, I thought I laid it on thick enough. Hmmm, maybe I should put in threats of sodomy on any American involved in the english release…. No, you still might have thought I was serious.
My question is, why do you even care anymore? Ever single dub related license/release you post about seems to have killed a part of your soul, but most likely you already own the whole series in the form of fansubs and/or region 2 DVDs. And you hate english dubs anyway. As long as they’re putting in an uncut Japanese version on the DVD, what do you care what they do with the dub? I suppose if you just want something to bitch about, that’s one thing…
See, I never get this argument when we talk about the dubbed versions of classic foreign films. People seem to understand the importance of loving something the way it was meant to be seen and heard when it relates to movies, but once you start telling a group of self righteous, entitled Americans that you’re not really an anime fan if you’re watching these butchered, hack-written, hack-acted, piss poor lip service reworks, then the “shutting the fuck up” gloves come off and “running my pedantic mouth” gloves fly into the picture.
Understand. I think that if you are going to pretend to be a fan of anime, at least make a little fucking effort. You don’t like to listen to it in the original Japanese? Then you aren’t an anime fan. You’re a fan of Japanese moving pictures featuring “actors” that real talent wouldn’t piss on to keep their house from burning down. You can’t say you are an anime fan or waddle your fat fucking ass into a con and start spouting chibi and baka and shit like that when you know dick about the culture behind it and know dick about the reasons it is what it is.
So there’s the root of the issue. I am sick of fat shitcan American pukes running roughshod over a culture and trying to cram it into their own without having to learn a fucking thing. It’s the same stupid shit that makes this country’s world outlook so narrow in every other aspect. And I’m sick of watching fourth and fifth rate cue card readers make a mockery of what was, at one time, a well-acted piece of cinema.
And don’t give me that bullshit about “Why shouldn’t people be able to enjoy it how that want?” Because they are fucking idiots to begin with and if they can’t step up and learn the slightest little thing about the culture, or enjoy art the way it was made, then they haven’t earned the right to view it at all.
Whew, your response was bit scary. But I had it coming, I know. I want to apologize though. At the time I wrote my comments, I was feeling pissy towards you without first attempting to understand where you and your opinions were coming from. Then I went back as far as your blog went and read all the way up to the recent posts. I’m sorry for jumping to conclusions. Would it be alright to discuss this topic a bit more with you? If it’s not too much trouble, and if you don’t talking about with me. I mean, if you think I’m just a ignorant waste of breath concerning anime, then I understand.
Anyway, sorry again for bringing my hissy fit on your blog without thinking it through.
Hey, no problem.
Feel free to drop me a line on AIM at the name: digiwombat
I’d be glad to talk to you about anything you like.
