That weird looking mech-anime-thing Bokurano has had a trailer put up over on its official website. There is also a comic thing up… lots of weird looking stuff. I am not a fan. The show hits in April.
Know what they need to bring over? More light novels. Kino no Tabi was bad ass and I am looking forward to picking up a few from Seven Seas as well. Anyway, Iwai Kyouhei’s Mushiuta fantasy series is getting itself a TV anime. Illustration for the novels were done by Ruroo, so there’s your barometer on how they will look when the anime hits. Not date or cast info was announced. Hope this rubbed our penis in that good sort of way.
Getchu, a place that you should visit often (soooo NSFW) if you enjoy visual novels and such, has passed along word the a second season of the Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru anime TV series is in the works. Hey, I am all for a rash of Manabi Straight figures hitting the market, but this seems odd. Following the GSC announcement of an actually good one yesterday, Toys Works has announced a Manabi and Mikan pair that… well.. fail to impress. The outfit looks fine, but that’s about the end of the compliments I have for it. Mikan-chan’s head is oddly shaped and they’re not getting extra points from me for the attempt at the nya-lip action. Worst of all, I think, is the ham fisted Manabi. She lacks all of the character and energy of her on-screen (in whatever format) counter part and it’s just not cool. On the plus, they are wearing sukumizu under the skirts, and they come in two colors, the blue linked above and the white linked right here. Both sets will be out in May for 5,800 yan and stand 135mm tall.

Good Smile Company just… well not JUST, but recently announced their June releases. Let’s just jump right into this shit! First up, from MuvLuv is Mitsurugi Meiya. She is shiny, busty, and of the quality you would expect from the Big Three. I honestly don’t have a whole lot to say about this one, but she looks good, and if that is your thing, then snatch it up! I am not super stoked about the color combo. TJ Han is gay. Just saying. SHe isdueoutinJune, of course, and will run you 5,800 yen. She’s 1/8th scale, by the way. 210mm.
Next up, and on my definite buy list, is Manabi from Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight. I absolutely love this anime and love the character designs in it. It’s going to continue being fucking wonderful. Manabi is sporting herself a super genki pose in a super dynamic scene on her hover scooter. It’s great. GREAT I TELLS YOU! The coloring is good, the carve is great, and the details are apt. I want it! She’s out in June, stands 190mm tall, and willrunyou5,800yen.

Can’t get enough of those fucking Witchblade figures? Well, GONZO has two. Looks like they are spending the kind of money that makes sure they get quality sculpts. First up is the lolilicious Amaha Rihoko. She’s sporting a very genki pose and the cutest little outfit. Damn it all! I might get it… although, considering the climate in this country regarding such things as this… I will probably end up on some watch list. COME ON PEOPLE! Anyway, she is out in March for 4,725 yen.
Moving on to bustier, more legal in Western countries type of figure, there is also a Soho Reina figure for those of us who love those sorts. She is sporting her super powered up form thing and the white coloring is extremely interesting. Hopefully the paint they used won’t yellow. You know how much I hate yellow paint! Sadly, not a clear backside shot. She’s out in March for 6,825 yen.

Everyone loves Max Factory, right? I know I do. And being the awesome fuckers they are, they’re putting out Haruhi this week AND they announced their new figures for June. Moving on, here is a Shenhua figure from Black Lagoon. I wonder… were her ears always that big? I mean… really? I’d say MaxFac did a good job on just about everything except those ears. Unless they are that big… haha. Still, I dig it. She’s sporting an active pose and the sculptor has done a great job of capturing the aesthetic of Black Lagoon. She’ll be out in June for 6,800 yen.
Another Shining Tears bathing suit figure (does anyone buy all of these sets?). This time Mao-chan is on the block in her too cut orange bikini. TO be nitpicky, as I am wont to do, her suit clashes a bit with the hair. Damn shame. She also sports a nice, shy pose. 1/7 scale, 235mm tall, and will run you 4,800 yen.
Moving along to Alter, from Quiz Magic Academy… the venerably sexy Rukia! It’s been a while since we saw the first from this set. Good to see them back on it. Rukia’s energetic pose does a good job conveying her attitude, although I am not to keen on the staff. Am I just sounding jaded now? She balances on the staff which also concerns me. Expert carve though. 5,800 yen and she’s 200mm tall.
Lastly, from Alter, is this out of the box Honey and Clover figure. It’s Hanamoto Hagumi and she takes on an interesting set of colors and has a lot more of scene going on for her than most figures we see. Still, I think this one is in the niche market and will likely only really appeal to Honey and Clover fans. Just a thought.
