Leica and Al PVC from Demonbane
by Randall Fitzgerald on Dec.19, 2006, under figures, japan
I don’t remember seeing anything from Toy International recently, if ever, but this entry is sure to turn the heads of some Demonbane and/or pretty girl fans. The figures have some issues, but overall this pair PVC of Al and Leica doesn’t look too bad, especially coming from a small, relatively unheard of (to me anyway) company. The figures are 1/7 scale and stand about 200mm tall at the tallest, there are some issues I have with the seams, costume design, and paint job, but it’s not at all a bad offering. The price might look bad, but for a pair of 1/7 scale figures, 12,390 yen isn’t all that bad. At any rate, it’s out this coming February, so if you like Demonbane, or bust girls in swimsuits, then keep an eye out.
Am I being too forgiving? Do you think? Figure it out for yourself after the jump. And this is it for news today. Amazing, right? Anyway, a ton of shots after the jump. I think the issue mostly stems from the figures looking awkward when they aren’t together… and the paint is a bit cheap seeming. They’re just sample shots, though, so who knows. I mean, that Mint figure came out ass ugly and deep brown. Uncool.

Unheard or not but it’s decent at max and they look way too freaky alone and I’m not that much of fan of Al & Leica to cough up that sum of yen. Even less as I already have MaxF’s Al >_>
And that display base looks like a make-shift decision made up in 5min before hitting “On” with the production. Swinwear & crude wooden base? Doesn’t add up that well for me anyways.

A lot of pre-production shots go onto wooden bases. You seem them around WanFesu time every year. Weird to see a retail release go out on a wooden base though. It won’t be on that when it ships. But yeah, apart they look weird and awful and MaxFac’s Al is WAY BETTER, but still, I don’t think this one entirely lacks merit if tey fix up those few, easily fixable issues. I mean, it’s a decent sculpt at least… when they’re together.

There really needs to be more figures out there that look like they’re interacting with each other (and i don’t mean in a you-hold-them-in-each-hand-and-act-out-fight-scenes-going-”raaargh!” way)
I mean, I think most of us just put them somewhere to look at and dont move them about often, so why not.. i’ll fork out the extra for a “Haruhi putting computer guys hands on her bewbs” scene

Well it would be great to see more “pair” figures or actually “two in one stand”. In example some pairings of characters like Kuzuki & Caster, Chrno & Rosette, you name it, possibilites would be infite. And I would be much more willing to cough up money for them. Even more if it lowers the overall price (less than both alone).

Woot, they are ugly.
