Hey guys. How’s things going? Did you miss me? No? Well fine. Let me remind you guys that I am planning some pretty keen stuff for the site. I don’t know. How do you guys feel about that? Expanding the site, but keeping the focus on news? Maybe an anime encyclopedia that’s openly editable? I mean a custom one, not some Wikipedia shit. And some reviews. And maybe more people to keep up on things? You know? The nature of the site wouldn’t change, and I’d be going for top notch writers, of course. I’ll let you guys know more later if any one expresses interest in the site going that way. Just drop a comment if you like the idea. I’d like to compete more directly with ANN is the reason. Ok, ok. On with the rollup!
Anime/Manga/Games
- 20th Century Boys has had a live action movie announced. It’s due out in 2008… which is decidedly late for the 20th century, so I’m assuming the manga it’s based on is a historical fiction.
- My fellow Ogiue LOVER SDS has written an article on the moe thrill as a commodity. I am going to read it after this. Yay! Ogiue BANZAI!
- Koge-Donbo’s website was updated this weekend (well, on December 1st) to indicate that a Kamichama Karin anime was in the works and is due out in 2007 sometime. That’s it for details. Aww.
- DelRey announced some new manga for the US, due out next summer. They picked up My Heavenly Hockey Club, Dragon Eye, and Alive, which I plan to start reading. Actually, maybe all of them… if the Dragon Eye chick is hot.
- The Death Note anime/movie-pair is getting a Live Action spin-off with L as the main character. I know a lot of you find that important, so I bolded it. It is set to air this coming TV season, so likely in January. Also a spin-off movie is planned for 2008.
- And just for fun, I’m going to link some videos from the visual novel ef – a fairy tale of the two. Here’s the official YouTube and a link to the widescreen WMV of the video. The site is work safe, so is the video. Not sure about the game, but I doubt it.
Figures
- Kotobukiya just, AND I MEAN JUST, posted up some March releases. First is Asakura Otome from Da Capo II ~ D.C. II ~. She looks… meh. A bit big on the hair side, but otherwise ok.
- Second is Aruruu from Utawarerumono. EVERYONE LOVES… ok no one loves her. We want Karura or that one chick with the long sword. Damnit. They are both due out in March for 4,410 yen. Again, she looks meh.
- Lastly, I think, from ToHeart 2 AnotherDays is a sexy and womanly Konomi. Ok, not so much. But she’s certainly wearing a revealing bikini and she comes with a nice floaty ring. YAY! She’s 1/7 scale and due out in March for 6,090 yen.
- And hey! Another, or the same, Arcueid hand puppet! She’ll puppet you for 2,940 yen in January.
- Rollup readers… meet Uran. Uran isn’t wearing very much. Uran can not wear very much IN YOUR ROOM this January for 7,800 yen. Oh and she’s a hefty 310mm tall. How about that?
- Remember that bending over Kanu figure based on that resin kit? Well now you can get a recoloring based on… Alice in Wonderland. She’s underwhelming and still boobalicious and 6,800 yen this February.
- Ok, here’s a weird thing. It’s called a Big Softy figure and it’s of Ichimashi’s resident Master Race representation Ana Coppola. Apparently, it’s squishy and HOLY FUCK the 300mm sperm catcher will run you 13,440 yen this March.
- Ok, that was a good joke, so here’s just a quick link. A 12 piece 1BOX of Yakitate’s cockteaseing BITCH WHO NEVER RETURNED BY CALLS. Her curvacious teasing can be had in 7,560 yen in March. Also, the secret character looks like a bikini one with a floaty ring. She won’t fill the whole in your heart… OH GOD.
- Solid Theater, oh how I love you. You are releasing two SEXY COLOR version of this Arin from Pangya. While I love the original colors, I have to admit that the black and grey motif is also arousing. Hmmm. Decisions! Both are out in April for 5,800 yen. YAY!
- Also HappySoda did a nice review of the new 1/6 Saber that I also picked up. You guys should buy one too. Haha.
Ok, that’s all. You guys, honestly, let me know what you think, and give me any ideas you might have and I’ll take it all into consideration for whatever I end up doing in the future. I also want to keep the tight knit feel I have now, you know CUZ I LOVE YOU GUYS! *heart*
Hooray, my other favourite character from D.C II is being released. I will most likely look forward to that.
I like her too, but that figure, I am not so excited about. The hair, it’s just too big. TOO BIG ADUN! FIX IT!
FUUUUUUCK.
I PROMISED MYSELF THAT KOTOBUKIYA’S KONOMI IS THE FIRST AND LAST I’LL BUY. I MANAGED TO HOLD OFF BUYING TNA’S KONOMI BUT NOW I ENDED UP ORDERING GSC’S AND PROBABLY THIS ONE TOO.
Edit >> I don’t think TNA made any Konomis. So this results in me being a person buying every 1/8 Konomi out there.
I like your style, so yeah, I could easily read things other than news. What exactly I don’t know. I really find myself scrounging for stuff to read actually, since I avoid almost everything about shows currently being aired, so 90% of most blog entries I can’t read.
Yeah, I would likely try to avoid the crap that goes along with series coverage. It’d take some thinking honestly. Being as I am an artsy prose sort of fucker, it would likely end up being something more like overviews and critiques of complete series. I mean, analyzing each individual episode is great and everything, but… you know… it’s not that great. Plus a million people do it. THAT’S NOT MY MODUS OPERANDI!
Thanks for the comment, rats.
Lian:
MAKING PROMI@SES WITH REGARD TO NOT GETTING FIGURES IS JUST ASKING TO BREAK THE PROMISE. I mean, come on. We ALL say “Well, I really shouldn’t. BUT SHE’S JUST SO CUTE” and then we crumble and spend more money. It’s a cruel world out there.
Are you denying the sexyness of Konomi-chan? GROAN.
The Neco-Arc puppet will take control of your body and force you to kill people, I must buy it; that Arin looks different, but still nice.

Actually, even though the first three volumes in the manga happen at 1997, the other erm… 19 volumes happen in the far future (if 2014-18 is the far future for you, though). Now, I know this kinda thing is not for every moe otaku, but I just have to say it. 20th Century boys is TEH BEST MANGA EVAR!!!1 I’m not joking. That thing is the most awesome manga I’ve (and maybe will ever) read. It’s done by the same guy who did Monster, so, if you liked that at leats a bit, then you’ll certainly love this shit.
