Alter's January Announcements

Allow me to keep the language proper on this when I say “Holy fucking goddamn shit.” Alter just turned out their January 2007 release schedule, and I am going to be broker-than-fuck come the New Year. Let’s start with the good stuff before I pass out from shock and joy. Seriously, I want all of these figures. Alter is becoming a health risk. Maybe I should switch my alliances from Max Factory, what with their recent delays. Hmmm… maybe.
First up, we’re looking at a 1/6 scale Ilya from Fate/hollow ataraxia. She’s wearing a two piece and beckoning you to come and break all sorts of laws. I mean, to splash her with water. That’s it. Same thing. Anyway, the figure is well carved and doesn’t suffer from that Flat-Eye Syndrome that tends to bug me about some of these figures, so that’s a definite plus. Ilya is standing on a somewhat understated blue base with a clear underlay to keep it steady, and only has one leg attached which makes me nervous, especially considering her pose and weight as a 195mm tall 1/6 scale figure. Just the same, I’m not entirely sure I will be able to employ common sense when making purchases with this sort of thing. She will run you 4,800 yen sometime in January. I hope they do something about the seam on her leg there.
Next in the list is OH HOLY JESUS!!! It’s Nagi from Peace@Pieces Shinigami Shouzoku version!! She looks absolutely amazing! Someone pinch me! Ok, ok. Nagi is going to be 1/8 scale and sitting atop of her perch of awesomeness stands about 180mm tall. Wow, wow. Sorry. This is going on pre-order right now. You can grab your own for 5,500 yen in January… and you should. Wow. Sorry, I guess I could have typed a better description, but I’m busy now. This will go right up next to my Hikaru. YAY! Moving on.
Thirdly, and possibly also getting herself a preorder, is Tachibana Rei from Pani Poni Dash! Gee golly. She looks better than the early shots of her that I saw and I am certainly a huge fan of Pani Poni, so I am torn. Maybe I should just get it. I need more money though. Oh well, it’s all the way in January, so I will just pre-order it now, and cancel if I am shitcan broke. Enough about my problems. Rei is donning her typical school outfit and bending over seductively. Another 1/8 scale and she stands 180mm tall. Ahh, fuck it. I’m buying it. The paint looks good, the sculpt is solid and accurate. I vote yes. Seeing the price helps too, she will only run me… I mean you 4,800 yen. Yes, also January.

Nagi looks great, and Rei ain’t too bad.. course what I really need is chinese waitress outfit, or a Rei x Himeko gropage figure if they want my money.
What I will say however, is that I’m really getting sick of all these Fate/hollow swimsuit figures.. don’t these broads do anything but sit on beaches? Surely there’s more interesting attire Alter can come up with

I have to agree with you about Rei. Her work outfit would have sealed a purchase for sure. Ah well! It’s a shame.
As for the Fate figures in bathing suits, I think Ilya is the only one they haven’t done yet, so I’m both hoping and assuming that she will be the last one we see from Alter. Other companies will do whatever they want though.

And I shall wait for GSC’s Shinkuu. I am totally broke after ordering the entire Busou Shinkuu. Maybe I should do away with Konami’s MMSes and save money for Alter releases.
