Well, what a rousing weekend! As you all know Otakon took place, and as most of you know, I couldn’t give a shit less. The real news is that we’re a scant couple of days away from Comiket 70. YEAH! That’s the good stuff. I am expecting Shingo to grab some good books so I can buy them off him at a greatly reduced rate. Surely he will comply with my demands. COMPLY! Rollup!!!
Anime/Manga/Games
- Speaking of Shingo, he put the latest iteration of Heisei Democracy online! I mean, it’s no ikimashou, but it’s the best he could do. I have to respect him for trying. Haha, ok no seriously, it’s looking really nice and I dig it. I can’t wait to see that mascot, and then the subsequent nude renderings of said mascot.
- Got a lot of trailers this weekend. I will also mention some Otakon licenses that might be worth noting as licensed, if the mood so strikes me.
- Here’s a trailer from the Pretty Cure Splash Star: Tick-Tock Kiki Ippai! and Digimon Savers movies. They are set to hit theaters on December 9th.
- Ther eis a trailer up for Eien No Hou. It’s the first I’ve heard of this movie, but apparently it’s the latest production by some group of religious crazies called Kofuku no Kagaku Institute for Research in Human Happiness. Yeah, I will not be watching this one, thanks.
- Atagoal wa Neko no Mori, based on the manga of the same name by Masamura Hirosi (not sre if that’s the proper order), has a trailer online. This one is a full CG animated movie. Oh joy.
- Les Miserables – Shoujo Cosette was announced from Fuji TV. It will be a 52-episode revival of World Masterpiece Theater.
- Bartender, the popular manga, is being turned into an anime series on Fuji TV.
- And finally Toei has announced plans to turn Gin-iro no Olynsis into a TV anime.
- Utawarerumono got licensed by ADV, who has already started fucking it up by calling it “Shadow Warrior Chronicles.” Makes perfect sense.
- FUNimation licensed School Rumble. I yawned.
- Word also has it, from Kadokawa Shoten, that Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuu-utsu has had several bids placed for it by American companies, but that no one has won it yet. It’s only a matter of time. I’m rooting for 4Kids.
- 009-1, another TV anime slated to star this fall, has had it’s site opened.
- Hermes-tan will be moeing… playing the lead in the live action version of Maison Ikkoku that is in the works. If you wanna know why you should care, well, if you want the chance to play opposite Itou Misaki, they are holding open auditions for a 20-24 year old male to fill the role of Yusaku Godai. DO YOUR BEST!
- Broccoli Books got the Disgaea 2 manga. Makes sense.
- Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora is being adapted into a TV drama. Look for it later this year.
- Death Note is getting it’s anime put out on October 3rd at Midnight. YAY!
- Also, Hitman Reborn is being made into an anime.
Figures
- Finally, gah.
- Megahouse is putting out some Excellent Model Core figures from Tsukasa Bullet. The first is Mariko Imai. She’s out in November for 5,250 yen. Her top looks to be possibly removable.
- Next up is Mizuki from the same… show? Game? Not sure. She’s the same price and date, and looks to have a removable top as well.
- Continuing the reign of Megahouse terror with the Excellent Model RAHDX figures is Flay Allster from Gundam Seed. She’s on a boring base, and her general look is sort of crap, but you can get all that yourself in November for 4,200 yen. Not too shabby.
- Next in the RAHDX Gundam Archive collection is Rakusu Klein. Not sure if that’s how her name goes officially, but who cares about Gundam anyway. I guess she looks a bit better than Flay. She’s out in November as well for 4,200 yen.
- And finally, in this set anyway, is Cagalli Yula Athha. She is looking the best of this set, but I still doubt I would put down money for her. 4,200 yen this November, of course.
- If you’re a Capcom Fighting Jam fan then you’ll be happy to see this Ingrid figure from ensky. She stands ab out 190mm tall and will cost you 5,040 yen this month. She’s of a pretty nice carve though.
- Here is a lovely School Rumble 1BOX. The 8 piece set sill run you 4,200 yen in November. I’m seeing a trend with Megahouse.
- Moving right along we have Kamisaka Haruhi from Happiness. It’s nice to see a good carve coming from all the news this weekend. Jeez. Solid Theater is putting this lady on shelves for 6,300 yen this November.
- Ok, ok, last thing. We have a lovely Shana figure from Toys Works. This PVC glory comes in Flame Haze and Non-Flame Haze versions, both of which have some of the trademark near-nudity we’ve come to love Shakugan no Shana for. They will cost 5,229 yen each this October, but isn’t it worth it for a low-thread count Shana figure?
Don’t worry though, it should still be worksafe.
And that is all! No longer am I a slave to your whimsy, dear reader! Now I shall go and… and… um… Is there anything you guys can think of? I’ve been watching Goldfish warning. It’s absolutely impossible that such a show could have been made in 1991. I’m still baffled. I’d assumed it was a show from the 70s. It’s amazing. Ok, I’m going to do some stuff now. LOVE YOU, BYE! Oh and I still have plans for the site, maybe I will start with them soon. Who knows?!
Gahaha! Shadow Warrior Chronicles, nothing less from the brainfarts know as ADV, I laughed so hard until my stomach started hurting. For a while, ADV’s motto seems like they think their customers are dumb or something. “They can’t spell this, let’s change it!”. Some people even have defended this title change by “The original is too hard to spell and we can’t remember it!”, well I don’t know for some people but as non-native english speaker, there’s nothing hard to spell the name, less problems with remembering it. Also, there has been some info circulating on the net that it was a due mistake between two series titles and Utawarerumono would be called “Blade Of The Phantom Emperor” or something like that. Still couldn’t care less for it’s American release, the original game and R2 are for that. On the sidenote, as a dub”hater” (never cared for them) I’d like to see ADV’s VA’s trying to spell something like “Onbitaekayan” in it.
Now the Shana figures caught my eye, but still the last not-so-knowledgeable friends of mine would declare me a dirty pervert for eternity for these, but who cares about ignorant bricks when it’s something this good :>
[...] Well, this got announced on ikimashou through a weekend rollup, and you know how much I love high quality shots of figures, so I am going to update that announcement with some just released product shots for the pair. Appearing in order after the break will be Mariko Imai and then Mizuki. The busty ladies are still on schedule to be released in November for 5,250 yen each. Please to enjoy the pictures after the jump. [...]
