old anime news and some other shit.

The official Kujibiki Unbalance site has been updated to reflect the character information and all that jazz for the new series. More importantly than that, however, is that they’ve put up a minute and forty-seven second trailer for the show. The trailer is a streaming .WMV format, and played pretty choppy on my system, so for that reason, I will be uploading it to YouTube. The trailer itself is pretty boring, and looks like that are still chasing that Negima dream, but oh well. We’ll probably all watch it anyway.

The YouTube video will show up after the jump. Tell me you love me. And if you saw it here and embed the player elsewhere, I’d dig a link back. Not required though. Weekend Rollup coming after this… and lunch.

Um… I might actually watch this. I don’t know why, but I will give it at least 3 episodes.

I am going to try it as well, although I’m a bit scared that Kujian will be one of the only anime I ever quit watching. I just hope they have some good script writers or else it will go on the list with BakuTen and xxxHolic. I liked the xxxHolic manga though.

I think I must be the only one who likes the new character designs. I don’t like the different uniforms, though. They look too bland and rather generic.

The production looks fairly solid, I guess. I’m still not excited about it, given I didn’t think too much of the original. The only thing I really liked about Kujian was the uniform designs, heh.

Independent of the original designs, I don’t dislike them, I just would have preferred to get the others as I feel that have more flavor and character. I see this as a non-related anime that borrows characters and the title from the original.

While the production values do look pretty good, I’m just saddened by how much they’ve made it generic. :’( I guess it just sort of stacks on with the fact that they aren’t doing a Genshiken second season, at least… yet.

Wait, I take back my comments on the designs. I meant to say I like the drawing style. The actual designs are hit and miss. The ones that have stayed close the original are fairly good, and the ones that don’t look like the originals at all… suck.

We must not lose hope!

I WILL SOLDIER ON! At least the summer and fall seasons are looking pretty good, so I won’t be missing Genshiken TOO much. I can distract myself with Strike Witches. I’m the only one that’ll be watching it, I bet. :’(
