Be it ever so humble, here’s the weekend rollup. Sorry it’s late. I have a job, you know?
Anime
- Media Blasters acquired Kirameki Project. First disc out June 13th.
- James Cameron’s rendition of Battle Angel Alita will be out in September 2009. Try not to get too excited.
- FUNimation announced that they have acquired licenses for Kimi ga Nozomu Eien (which they will put out as Rumbling Hearts because we are all retarded, I guess.), Speed Grapher, Negima and a few others.
- Robert’s Anime Corner Store laid down the funk on Media Blasters and has announced that they will carry the title and sell it at cost ($12.98) Here’s the quote.
ADV created a minor controversy with retailers after announcing that the release of the Prefectural Earth Defense Force OAV will be available from ADV only and will not be offered to dealers. This came after several retailers had already started taking pre-orders for the title, and is a great example of why we don’t always rush to be the first to post a new item for pre-order. I was very disappointed by this, but contacted ADV to see if they would allow us to carry the title as a ‘pass through’ item, meaning we will stock it and sell it to customers at cost ($12.98). ADV agreed, and I’m glad that we were able to make arrangements so that RACS customers will be able to obtain the title here.
- The Disgaea 2 opening animation is online at the official site.
- The Kyou no 5 no 2 promo trailer is online. Be warned, the site that is hosting it isn’t very worksafe, although the trailer is. Just don’t click around and you’ll be fine.
- An AirTV Japanese School Year Calendar will be out in mid-March
Figures
- If you missed out on Sela-chan, Kotobukiya is doing a second run in April. Still won’t be wide-release though.
- Kotobukiya also laid down plans for its upcoming Kunugi Ayano figure from Pia Carrot he Youkoso!! G.O., do out in March
- Z’ON has announced that they will be releasing some Punipani Dash trading figures in late April.
- The Range Murata Pinky:st set has been pushed back to late May. Weren’t these things announced like… a decade ago?
- WanFesu was this weekend, so make sure you check out the giant image review from Heisei Democracy.
- On Sale This Weekend
- CMS’s Gun x Sword trading figures are out
- Along with the Spike PVC from Cowboy Bebop by way of Yamato
- And Yuuyu’s too cute Fastec Super Express Train Catgirl thing is out there for you now too.
[...] For those of you still thirsting for more Kotobukiya figure releases, we have one more. This time it's the Kuyugi Ayano figure that I mentioned a few Weekend Rollups back. The figure, from Pia Carrot he Youkoso!! G.O., went on sale today, and in a bit of sour news, is already sold out in most places. I guess Ayano is a popular lady. The figure, despite being only 1/8 scale, will run you 9,240 yen. If you preordered, enjoy your empty wallet and new figure, and if you didn't, might want to try to slide a restock order in now, because it's not likely that this figure will be on shelves very long.
